Disclaimer: I do not own the canon characters, I made up a few, but probably can't claim much towards them either.

Notes: It was meant to be a Janeway/Chakotay story, and is, but I spent so much more time on Janeway's experience of being pregnant and the women in her life around her supporting that that it's her story more than anything else.

Chapter five contains a more detailed than commonly seen description of uncomplicated childbirth. (I don't really know how to warn for that or if I need too...I thought I should say something)

Summary: After spending one night together on Proxima Station, Kathryn and Chakotay return to their duties, planning to meet at the end of his mission. Informed that she's now pregnant, Kathryn faces a long journey to find what she really wants.
