Inspired by many wonderful women I know, and specific thanks to [livejournal.com profile] sternel, [livejournal.com profile] canis_takahari, [livejournal.com profile] paraka (yay! for out of the box thinking), [livejournal.com profile] fen_grenfell, [livejournal.com profile] abigail89, and [livejournal.com profile] enkanowen.

The title comes from the refrain of "Que Sera Sera" by Doris Day. The classics never die.

Title: Stories Have Endings, Fantasies Fade

Author: [livejournal.com profile] sunriseinspace

Fandom: Star Trek XI

Character(s): Jocelyn McCoy / Leonard McCoy, Joanna McCoy, Deborah McCoy, eventual Jocelyn / Clay Treadway

Rating: PG-13

Disclaimer: I own nothing about Star Trek (2009), its plotlines, or characters, including any recognizable dialogue.

Summary: She buries her face in her arms, trying to shut out the heartbreak she can already see coming.  --Sequel to The Best There's Ever Been--

A/N: Hee, I worked on this backward, which actually amuses me to no end.  Also, in my head, this is the prequel to my Jim/Bones heat-wave!verse, not that there's any K/M in this at all.

WARNING: Deals with the loss of a child, the death of a parent, and divorce.

14th-Jul-2010 10:56 am - Fic: Private Revelations
Title: Private Revelations
Rating: R
Word Count: 1,118
Beta: many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] selinamoonfire for the enabling and the having fun with comma's time.
Pairings, Characters: Joanna, mentions of Jocelyn, Chapel, Sulu, Spock and Kirk/McCoy.
Warnings: Mirrorverse; including veiled allusions to knife play, torture, voyeurism, murder, xenocide, slavery and possible incestuous situations.

Summary: One of the newest crew members of the ISS Enterprise sends back her initial impressions of serving aboard to Terra and her mother. Lieutenant Joanna Darnell-McCoy is no ordinary crew member. Her mother isn't a stay-at-home mom either.

Disclaimer: Not mine, dammit!

A/N: My second foray into the mirror verse and again featuring that little vixen Joanna Darnell-McCoy. She isn't as innocent as she seems, but then again in the mirror verse who is really who they seem to be?
18th-Jun-2010 03:35 pm - First Anniversary Ficathon: The Best There's Ever Been

Fandom: Star Trek XI

Character(s): Jocelyn McCoy, Leonard 'Bones' McCoy

Rating: PG

Disclaimer: I own nothing about Star Trek (2009), its plotlines or characters, including any recognizable dialogue.

Summary: "You look like the cat that swallowed the canary," Len rumbles in her ear, warm arms sliding around from behind her, holding her close.

A/N: Written for the where_no_woman First Anniversary Ficathon prompt Jocelyn McCoy – Maternity.

BTW: I'm not a mom, so if anything's off, I do apologize. My siblings were born when I was 2 and 6 (and I'm in my 20s now); I don't remember anything about when my mom was pregnant.

5th-Apr-2010 01:01 pm - Rules of Acquisition: Drabblefests are good for business!
ext_9289: (☄ mommy complex)
Welcome to [livejournal.com profile] where_no_woman's April 5th drabblefest! This round of prompts are all taken from the guiding principles of Ferengi culture, far from Federation law: the Rules of Acquisition! Ferengi business is conducted solely* by men, solely in the pursuit of profit (currency: latinum), so I trust you will all be ready to use your imagination and think metaphorically where terms like "man" and "profit" are concerned. A Ferengi would be first to congratulate you for finding loopholes. Remember, everyone is invited to participate and any Star Trek canon is fair play!

Rules of Drabblequition:

1) Prompts are not exclusive. There is no limit on the number of people who may write about a prompt, and there is no need to claim prompts.

2) Post responses in the comments and include the lead character and your prompt in the subject line. If you choose a long prompt, you may use just the first few words.

3) Responses may be any length from a proper 100-word drabble to a multi-chapter epic. If the story is too long for comments, you may post it elsewhere and comment with the link.

4) There is no time limit for this challenge. I will return to index the responses in a week or so.

5) Please leave feedback, respond to feedback, and advertise this post around.

6) If your response is rated NC-17 or would require a content warning (for rape, graphic violence, etc.), you may post it in the comments here but you must include the relevant rating or warning in the subject line.

16th-Mar-2010 12:04 am - 15 March Drabblefest
(First off, I'm sorry I'm posting these so late in the day! It's been a long, frankly horrible Monday, and I also might have maybe also been under the false impression that it was only the 14th. :\ (It's still the 15th in some time zones, right?))

This month's prompts are various quotes, poem stanzas, and song lyrics that I've been collecting in my notebook for the past several notes. They're just things that caught at me; there's no real theme whatsoever (other than the fact that they're all taken from things I've read or have been listening to recently). Happy Writing!

The Rules:
1) Prompts are not exclusive. There is no limit on the number of people who may write about a prompt, and there is no need to claim prompts.

2) Post responses in the comments and include the lead character and your prompt in the subject line. If you choose a long prompt, you may use just the first few words.

3) Responses may be any length from a proper 100-word drabble to a multi-chapter epic. If the story is too long for comments, you may post it elsewhere and comment with the link.

4) There is no time limit for this challenge. I will return to index the responses in a week or so.

5) Please leave feedback, respond to feedback, and pimp this post around.

6) If your response is rated NC-17 or would require a content warning (for rape, graphic violence, etc.), you may post it in the comments here but you must include the relevant rating or warning in the subject line.
