hailing frequencies open!

Hello, dear womanfans! (That's fans of woman. Women. I'm tired.) It has come to my attention that this movie I never believed I'd live to see has finally materialized, and with it (I'M GUESSING) some chicks in space!

I haven't seen the movie yet, and I will not be able to for a couple of days yet. However, I know many of you will have, and so I will be making a post for you to discuss if you like. This post and its comments, however, should remain spoilerfree.

Of course, you may wish to make your own posts regarding the movie, be they discussion, fic, or icons. All awesome! But please do keep your STID spoilers blacked out or behind cuts, and take a moment to refresh yourself on the community guidelines in our profile and pseudo-FAQ before posting.

Welcome to the world of tomorrow!!!

OH HEY, I GUESS I SHOULD OPEN THE CURTAINS AND LET THE LIGHT IN HERE.

Happy Birthday, Where No Woman!

Hello!

A lot of things are happening in the comm right now. First, I should welcome our new mods,

boosette and

merisunshine36! They are both fabulous (and my goodness, productive) people who have already brought a lot of energy to our proceedings. There will probably be a few changes, clarifications, and expansions coming in the next several weeks, and I'm looking forward to year two with them. (Thank you again to everyone who applied!)

Speaking of, today is

where_no_woman's real and true first birthday. We've come a hell of a long way and I'm incredibly grateful to you all for being a part of it. If this doesn't call for a little sparkle text in the comments, I don't know what does.

Third, as of yesterday the First Anniversary Ficathon is offically underway! If you need to double check your claimed due dates, they're all listed in these posts:
